Gloucestershire & Warwickshire Railway visit 20-4-2023. Rich & Robs Little big day out!

With a cracking sunny spring day forecast and Glos and Warks Steam Locos rostered 35006, 75014 and our Peak 45149 doing a turn at the end of day, a little big day out was certainly in order - after all the wind and rain we've had recently it was much needed! We started of the day behind 75014 Braveheart, a cracking BR Standard 4 loco hired in from the Dartmouth Steam Railway. Then we had a bash behind 35006 P&O that was also on the roster, and to top the day off Peak 45149 , with our own CMDG (Cotswold Mainline Diesel Group) driver Simon at the helm. As I'm a shareholder and am in contact with the group I had previously asked if we could have a cab ride (now legally, with a GWR Chaperone/volunteer Neil in the cab to permit such activity). So near the end of the day myself and Rob would have the ultimate treat, that included putting our loco to rest on the depot at close of play. Also a look at Progress on Groups Class 26 as well, that's coming together nicely, should be out and about in 2024, with much body work to do still. As usual a great memorable day out meeting great people that volunteer for the railway, many thanks again for providing us with a grand day out! Rob And I have mixed our video clips together to give a flavour of the day especially 35006 making Hellfire through the tunnel! Please ensure you scroll to the bottom of the page to view the video.
