Wings and Wheels proudly use this Top Secret B46/B52 variant British Rail Project as its logo. B46's in their heyday had a unique Basher following. The type started life as a B44 prototype then the B46's were constructed! When the end of the Class 46's came BR unveiled its top secret project, unofficially known as the Beast of Gateshead, many salutes were given to it's steam heat brother, these picture were submitted anonymously by a photographer who managed to take these hitherto unseen pictures of this unique cross over vehicle. B46 Technical Specifications; 8 x Pratt and Whitney Turbo Jets + 1 x Sulzer 12LDA28-B power units generating a total of 740,000 HP. Maximum Speed 450 MPH/ 391 Knots.
