Wings and Wheels Society.

West Somerset Railway.

Another fantastic steam gala for the W.S.R this year held over the 21st of March to the 29th of March excluding the Monday and Tuesday. Many wings and wheels members most probably visited the line between Bishops Lydeard to Minehead. The visiting locomotives, newly restored SR34046 Braunton and new turntable pulled the crowds in daily. Rich Kelsey, Nick Clarke, Gilroy Kerr and Norman Preedy visited the gala. The pictures were all taken on Tuesday the 26th and as can be seen the intention was (and we did!) to ride behind LMS 46100 Royal Scot, SR 34046 Braunton, 34028 Eddystone, LNER 60019 Bittern and S&DJR 7F No 88 which was resplendent in blue. Other visiting locomotives such as LMS 45231 Sherwood Forester hauled freight trains through the day. A few pints of Cottleigh Brewery Beers were consumed throughout the day and this was supplied on all the trains. All in all a cracking day out was enjoyed by all.
