Bahamas at Stroud and Stonehouse 27-8-2022.

Enjoy a few photos of RCT's Cotswold Venturer outward trip with 45596 Bahamas on the 07.13 Paddington to Worcester (1Z52), the tour had a 30 to 40 minute stop at Stroud so I thought best get 2 bites at it! I just made the first bite at Stroud with a minute to spare after negotiating 5 sets of traffic work lights on my way to Stroud, however the onward race to Stonehouse in my Audi was an easy one. Locomotive No.45596 Bahamas was built as a standard Jubilee Class in 1934 by the North British Locomotive Company for the London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS). In May 1961, under the ownership of British Railways, Bahamas was the recipient of several experimental modifications aimed at improving the steam engine. In July 1966, Bahamas was withdrawn from traffic. A preservation society was founded and raised the money to purchase it from British Rail to prevent it from being scrapped. Now 45596 is owned by the Bahamas Locomotive Society is based at Ingrow on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway in Yorkshire. Enjoy the pictures
